WORLD BANK GROUP: #YouthOnCOVID19= How Has #Covid19 Affected Me and My Country? How Can We Have A #Resilient Recovery?

How Covid-19 Affected Me I have planned and prepared to go to the United States for my Master’s degree starting from this Fall 2020. I will start to study in August with a scholarship for two years. Unfortunately, the US embassy is still closed which means I cannot enter the US this year. This brings me to the issue of whether I take online courses or defer and take in-person classes. I am still trying to gather more information through the internet from my future university, embassy, and my sponsorship and adjust accordingly. Today I have already made numerous sacrifices including potentially joining my friend’s new start-up as a teacher. Additionally, looking for a job is more difficult during this current pandemic. How Covid-19 Affected My Country My country is one of the developing countries that confronts a higher struggle to fix pandemic problem. Covid-19 affects my country’s economy and it will affect many sectors such as technology, employment, healthcare, and society. I...

Belum Menjadi Ahli, Baru Sebuah Ungkapan

Sade Traditional Village of Lombok; Only on Sade!

Gambar
I, English Clubbers and our exchange lecturer, Mrs. Patrice have visited Sade Village this year on March. For this session I just want to share what I have seen personally.            Lombok has everything. If you are busy with life pressure, then you need to refresh your mind, go sightseeing, take a deep fresh-breath, and see God's creature here. I am talking about one of traditional village and still holding their traditional daily life. I am sure people around the world who claimed themselves as "travelers" have visited Sade. So, what's in this village makes interesting? 1. Friendly     Most of Indonesian society, including Lombok society is friendly. I think everyone knows that. Why friendly? Because I am the example of society who very interested and love to see tourists who come to Lombok, and curious to learn their languages and share about Lombok itself. 2. Loyal to Their Own Traditions    The local peo...

The Cameraman and Reporter...

Gambar
This is what I have captured when there was an event by Bank Indonesia for the inauguration of the library in one of university in Mataram, on 28th September 2017. I didn't enjoy the event, instead I focused on these two old men. As far as I know, usually, both cameraman and reporter are having young ages, right? Proved by what I have seen on TV. But, see. The reality. They still dedicated themselves to give the best for audiences. They were not retired, they were still doing their work. Although their age were not comparable to their fatigued, but they always carried the camera on and recorded the information with a small note. These pictures can described and been a silent witnesses. Writer: Siti Fathimah

to be continue

Today, I heard from my college friend that was making me fed up. She had a plan to visit her lecturer to signature her research proposal. In Indonesia (or maybe in all around the world) the students have to be patient to waiting for every lecturer that they would meet.

STILL, MEN = WOMEN?

November 27, I've got to check my lecturer for my proposal. While my campus still in re-building process for better facilities. Once, I've met my old classmates, and short story, she offered me to join her lecturer's program about tourism and talk to tourists (I like that so much!). Moreover, students who willing to join that program will get payment million Rupiahs per week. So, she gave me his phone number, and I have a short chat with him. Unfortunately, he inform me that I WAS NOT ALLOWED to join that program upon the reason I'M WOMAN, and danger spots to do that research. Tbh, I've visited those spots so many times, and still in Lombok area. Yes, that program is only for men!           November 28, I came from my birthplace, need an hour to arrive campus. I do that everyday because I was scared about my boardinghouse because my motorbike was stolen. Then, in the middle of my ridin...
